AeroPress Inverted
What
- 11g coffee beans, light roast
- 200g water
- paper filter
The amount of coffee depends on the roast. 11g for lightest, 13g for darkest.
0.1g precision scale is fancy, a kitchen scale is a must.
How
- Grind between espresso and filter. For darker roasts, it can be on the coarser side. The two ends of the spectrum are floury and sandy. Without a better tool just pinch for a feel
- Invert the aeropress, pull the plunger almost fully out. At least the last rubbery part should remain in the tube. Put it on the scale
- Boil water
- Pour 200g in. Make sure all the coffee is wet. Rinse the filter inside the paper holder. It can rest on the top of the aeropress
- Wait 2 minutes
- Stir lightly with a spoon to sink the coffee on the surface
- Wait 30 seconds
- Secure the paper holder on top. Together with a mug, invert the whole thing
- Press gently, until the piston stops
- Pull back a bit to prevent dripping
