AeroPress Inverted

What

The amount of coffee depends on the roast. 11g for lightest, 13g for darkest.

0.1g precision scale is fancy, a kitchen scale is a must.

How

  1. Grind between espresso and filter. For darker roasts, it can be on the coarser side. The two ends of the spectrum are floury and sandy. Without a better tool just pinch for a feel
  2. Invert the aeropress, pull the plunger almost fully out. At least the last rubbery part should remain in the tube. Put it on the scale
  3. Boil water
  4. Pour 200g in. Make sure all the coffee is wet. Rinse the filter inside the paper holder. It can rest on the top of the aeropress
  5. Wait 2 minutes
  6. Stir lightly with a spoon to sink the coffee on the surface
  7. Wait 30 seconds
  8. Secure the paper holder on top. Together with a mug, invert the whole thing
  9. Press gently, until the piston stops
  10. Pull back a bit to prevent dripping
